Parks & Recreation
Your Parks,
Your Community,
Your Fun
Welcome to Harrison Township’s Parks and Recreation Department. We’re committed to enhancing residents’ quality of life by providing exceptional recreational opportunities and maintaining our beautiful green spaces. Our two main parks, along with a community room available for gatherings, serve as the heart of the township—safe, accessible, and well-kept places for relaxation, play, and events.
We create fun programming for families and residents of all ages, whether you’re planning a family picnic, exploring nature trails, or joining a community event. Through our programs and facilities, we strive to foster community pride and well-being, keeping Harrison Township vibrant and welcoming.

Harrison Township Parks
Harrison Township is proud to maintain two community parks—Sinclair Park and Shiloh Park—as well as our Community Center, which serves as a hub for recreation, events, and community connection. These spaces offer residents and families a place to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
But the green space doesn’t stop there. Northridge Schools is investing in the future with Polar Park, a new community park currently in development, and Rat Skate Park, a favorite for local skaters. In addition, we’re just minutes away from a variety of Five Rivers MetroParks, which feature scenic trails, river access, and year-round outdoor adventures.
Whether you're enjoying a picnic, joining a community event, or exploring miles of nearby trails, there’s always a way to get outside and stay active in Harrison Township.

Community Center
The Community Center is a 4,500 square feet facility open to the public. It was built in 1973 and sits directly behind the Government Center.
The newly renovated Community Center is open to residents and the public for free for meetings by local public service organizations or civic organizations that involve or contribute to the welfare of the citizens of Harrison Township. Private parties or other social events are prohibited.
The Harrison Township Trustees shall have first priority for use of the building to transact and handle affairs of the Township. The maximum occupancy permitted in the Harrison Township Community Center is 300 persons.

Polar Park
Located right next to the Northridge Schools Board of Education offices, Polar Park is a growing outdoor space designed with the community in mind. The park features walking trails, a shelter for gatherings, and a few disc golf practice nets—perfect for students and neighbors looking to stay active.
What makes Polar Park unique is who maintains it: the Northridge Schools Parks and Recreation class. Students take pride in helping to care for the park, gaining hands-on experience in community stewardship while giving back to their neighborhood.
As development continues, Polar Park is quickly becoming a favorite spot for both relaxation and recreation in the heart of Northridge.

The Rat Skate Park
Located on the Northridge Schools campus, The Rat is a state-of-the-art skate park built through a community-school partnership. It features ramps, rails, a pump track, and lighting for safe use after hours.
Students help maintain the park through Northridge’s Parks and Recreation program, and classes use the space for hands-on learning. A new Skateboarding Club is also taking off.
Open to the public, The Rat is a community-driven space for recreation, learning, and connection.

Five Rivers Metroparks
Harrison Township is proud to partner with Five Rivers MetroParks. Bike paths run through our community, and improving access to the Great Miami and Stillwater Rivers is a key priority.
We’re home to the Five Rivers Ranger Station and just minutes from Wegerzyn Gardens and Island MetroPark—putting nature right in our backyard.
